Latin America. Following the purchase of Videocorp's AV, security and IT operations in Chile and Peru, Ricoh is looking to strengthen its stake as a digital services company, something it has been operating in Europe for several years and is now starting in Latin America.
AVI Latin America spoke with Miguel Tapia, Vice President of the Southern Region of Ricoh Latin America, who pointed out that "As our goal is to become a digital services company, this acquisition, of course, contributed to accelerating this goal that we have. The most important thing about this acquisition is knowledge, research, know-how, acquiring talents, in the area of audiovisuals and critical infrastructure."
This new approach is related to the company's value proposition, which is to accelerate digital adoption with services that allow human talent to be consolidated. How do they do it? Through three main pillars:
One, equip the organization, whether it's multifunctional, with computers, with servers. Two, connecting people, related to the audiovisual area and critical infrastructure. And three, connecting people's potential.
Miguel Tapia added that "That is why the acquisition we made is important, because it allows us not only to consolidate ourselves in Chile and Peru, and then to repeat all the good things that are being done in Chile and Peru in the area of audiovisual and critical infrastructure in the other countries of our region. To this end, there is an integration implementation plan. This plan is going to last three years."
The Ricoh executive did not rule out that they may make new acquisitions of companies in the region in order to carry out the strategy of becoming a digital services company.
