Latin America. More with less. With those 3 words we could summarize the trend that, so far, has made it clear that it is here to dominate entertainment for the next few years: the use of projectors at home.
More resolution, more projection size, more color, more compact; lower price, lower environmental impact, lower energy consumption, less difficulty in transporting it. This is the trend that is setting the tone for image visualization and, until 2024, the purchase of projectors for home use has increased 250 times in the last 4 years, which shows that consumer adoption for the use of projectors is trending to continue increasing in the coming years. And what if this trend of using projectors is now presented in mini projectors?
Yes, it is no coincidence that the most recently created projection segment (mini projectors) and with the greatest development and innovation in recent years talking about features such as projection size, brightness, resolution and audio, is beginning to sound firmly among a market increasingly interested in larger images, with smaller recreational spaces, and among them the younger generations predominate.
Mini projector technology has emerged as a revolutionary force, transforming the way we experience entertainment, whether it's movies, TV shows and your favorite apps, as well as personal or group recreational spaces. These compact devices have come a long way since their inception, now offering an impressive combination of portability, projection flexibility and advanced features that offer a solution for experiencing quality content in any space.
Advances in display technology have allowed mini projectors to offer amazing image quality and, above all, a greater number of colors compared to conventional large format screens. On the other hand, the adoption of technologies such as 4K resolution, HDR and intelligent operating systems is increasing in users who are looking for a multimedia approach, accessibility to the applications to which they are subscribed and that to achieve it you do not need to pay a large amount of money.
The combination of all these qualities results in a maturing technology category attacking a market at the same stage of life; those who stop seeing these devices as a toy or a gadget to become a solution that provides the best experience, with lower energy consumption, more colors than a screen, at a price that, at first glance, is attractive, and in the long term is convincing.
Some mini projectors have the most advanced laser projection technology called TriChroma, which consists of the use of three independent light sources for the three primary colors, drastically improving the resolution and to a greater extent, the color spectrum that covers each projected image. If we add to this, qualities such as projection flexibility from 65" to 300" in some cases, Dolby Vision certification in image, auto-calibration features or automatic geometric adjustments so as not to depend on having a straight projection shot, and a good audio backup as Dolby or JBL have historically been positioned, results in an immersive entertainment experience, Portable, technological, and profoundly powerful in a category that prioritizes portability increasingly rewards colors that are close to reality.
Undoubtedly, innovation in mini projectors will continue to develop by leaps and bounds, improving brightness faster and faster, increasing connectivity and further reducing the physical size of new models to make them the best option for portability in entertainment.
All this development could not be built without doing it hand in hand with the needs of the market, and it is important to emphasize that understanding this growth also requires contextualizing the personal interests with which these consumers identify, taking them into account and making them part of a value proposition. To meet this growing demand, manufacturers are also prioritizing that, in addition to having an aesthetically curated design that is technologically innovative, it has features that minimize its environmental impact, prioritizes recycled materials in its manufacture, reduces energy consumption and implements measures that favor visual health. These measures not only benefit the planet, but also personal health. In other words, a win-win trend.
