ISE. At ISE 2025, Absen will have a collaboration with renowned multimedia artist and director Refik Anadol, to present a digital art installation dubbed 'California Landscapes'.
This installation will show fascinating experimentation with the Stable Diffusion model, one of the most advanced technologies in the field of artificial intelligence for image generation.
Refik Anadol is a pioneer in the field of data aesthetics and machine intelligence. He co-founded the Refik Anadol Studio in Los Angeles and is a faculty member in UCLA's Department of Design and Media Arts. His work explores the synergy between human creativity and machine intelligence. Using data as its main material and collaborating with neural networks of computerized minds, Anadol creates revolutionary visualizations of digital memories, pushing the boundaries of interdisciplinary arts.
'California Landscapes', which will be on display at Absen's booth at ISE 2025, employs adaptive discriminator augmentation (ADA) techniques to generate synthetic images, from which visual 'hallucinations' of California's stunning landscapes are captured in a multidimensional space. To create these hallucinations, Anadol and his team collected data from digital archives and public sources, processing it with machine learning-based classification models.
Once the image selection was complete, the AI, when left idle and unsupervised, generated abstract landscapes with new aesthetic visuals, color combinations, and unique lines formed by algorithmic connections.
The unrivalled data-driven, AI-created artwork will be showcased on Absen's largest MicroLED display that will be present at ISE. With 16.3 million pixels and dimensions of 4200 x 6075 mm, Absen's MicroLED wall is equipped with multiple advanced image optimization technologies, bringing visuals to life.
It offers superior stability, reliability and energy efficiency, making it the ideal canvas to present this incredible work of art. The series also includes advanced image optimisation technologies, such as 4x contrast increase and a 50% lower failure rate, as well as anti-glare and glare-free technology, which ensures exceptional and continuous visual clarity for stunning images.
Ruben Rengel, Executive Vice President of Absen, explained: "We are delighted to present Refik Anadol's groundbreaking work at ISE 2025. This collaboration exemplifies the innovative potential of Absen's LED display technology, transforming Refik's visionary art into a fully immersive experience that pushes the boundaries of creativity and technology. We can't wait to captivate visitors at our booth with this extraordinary feature and inspire them with what's possible when art and cutting-edge technology come together."
