The European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) awarded Sennheiser's HD800 headphones as the best in that continent with the title "European Headphone 2009-2010".For the EISA jury, this team presents a new reference model for headphone manufacturers, since its diaphragm is ring-shaped, a geometry that provides a large surface but at the same time minimizes distortion.
"The sound is incredibly clean even at elevated sound pressure levels. The use of low-resonance materials contributes to this clarity in reproduction, while including plastic ear pads, a metal and plastic sandwich structure for the tape resting on the head, and a special high-precision fabric made of stainless steel containing the transducers. Although the HD 800 is not an ultralight headset, it is extremely comfortable. Its sound is never exaggerated, limiting itself to faithfully imitating the original in each frequency, from the deepest bass to the subtlest treble," says the EISA jury.
