Latin America. Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Chile are some of the countries that in the region are part of the Global Content Delivery (CDN) project of the telecommunications company Telefónica, so they will benefit from the agreement established between this company and the software specialist Wowza for the provision of this service.
Specifically, the Wowza Media Systems system was chosen to be used as an essential component in the multi-screen content delivery network.
Among the functions that Telefónica customers will be able to access, thanks to the chosen software, are the possibility of generating live streams, as well as on-demand content for PCs, tablets, smartphones and IPTV set-top boxes. In the same way, it offers as its main attraction the distribution of multiplatform content.
Telefónica's commitment to this high-quality system for the transmission of content is a sign of the importance that the generation and transmission of material in multiple formats takes every day for the industry, and for different platforms, as an alternative option that is increasingly popular among users.
Precisely for this reason, the telecommunications company continues to expand to consolidate itself in a growing market. In the specific case of its commitment to the CDN, the company announced that they have already installed more than 40 nodes in 10 countries, and expect to end the year with a presence in 22 nations.
