United States. The main stage of Bud Walton Arena on the Campus of the University of Arkansas was illuminated by 20 lights Chauvet COLORado 1 Tri Tour during the Dalai Lama's visit. The luminaires were selected and installed by TES Productions, based in Tulsa, Okla.
The illuminated stage was decorated with red curtains accented by two golden ones and collected in strings of the same color. The curtains flanked the minimum space needed for the lecture series. Two pairs of golden armchairs were placed at either end of a red sofa, next to small wooden tables, and a lectern was placed to the right of the stage.
Aaron Brown, the luminique technician and director of TES Productions, said that he "loved having control over the color temperature when we recorded this event, we needed a white light of 3200K, the exact color temperature required for television. This LED luminaire was the ideal one."
The Dalai Lama participated in two lectures during his visit to the university: he held a panel discussion entitled "Turning Swords into Plowshares: The Many Paths of Nonviolence." He also presented a speech entitled "No to Violence in the New Century: The Way Forward."
