International. The company Visual Acuity took advantage of the InfoComm Show 2012 to look for the best technologies in the audiovisual industry that will be implemented in the Science Museum, a building that is being built in Miami.
The design and development of audiovisual and energy technologies is part of the second phase of construction of the building, which should be completed in 2015, and in which Visual Acuity has been working for more than a year. It includes specifications for computer networks, Wi-Fi, distributed antennas, digital signage, among others.
The building is a partially outdoor structure designed by Grimshaw Architects, with a basic design concept of a "living building" that changes physically and visibly in response to Miami's environment, events, and mood.
As Blair Parkin, managing director of Visual Acuity, explained, "Working together with Grimshaw, our goal is to make it totally intelligent, with networked systems that can be operated remotely from anywhere in the building."
The executive added that Visual Acuity has been working on the design and development of the technologies for a year, and that is why they sought to socialize them in InfoComm to generate discussions with the community that supplies the technology and prepare the best technical systems.
The Miami Science Museum will have more than 250,000 square meters, with some of the most original and inspiring uses of new technologies and that seek to become a new tourist attraction of Miami.
