Latin America. The projectors of the Asian manufacturer Epson are recognized worldwide in the segment below 5,000 lumens, that is, projectors of mass consumption, but since five years ago the company began the fight for the market of more lumens, which lead few companies.
This was commented to AVI Latin America rodrigo Troncoso, representative of Epson in Chile, who explained that the company wanted to explore in this market by launching two references of 7,000 lumens, and due to the good results, today they have more than ten references that reach up to 10,000 lumens.
According to Rodrigo Troncoso's figures, in recent years Epson has been gaining ground in the projector market of more than 4,000 lumens. While in 2009 the market share was 5.8% in this segment worldwide, by 2010 it almost tripled, going to 13.7% and by 2011 it exceeded 15%.
Now the company is joining forces to publicize its new projectors in Latin America, a region in which the main characteristic of consumers is to look for the lowest price, without taking into account many times that it ends up affecting the quality of the projection by not buying the right equipment.
"The projector market in Latin America has always been led by the lowest due to customer ignorance. But this trend has begun to change and now there are customers with greater demands that have stopped beating as the first factor of purchase decision the price, "said Rodrigo Troncoso.
Epson is committed to this new segment with technology equipment and its own design, which are characterized by their brightness, resolution and contrast rate.
