International. Throughout the month of October, some public monuments around the world have been illuminated with pink lights, as part of the campaign that seeks to raise awareness among women in the fight against breast cancer.
Traditionally this day is commemorated on October 19 of each year, but this year it has been extended to the whole month with the support of the Philips company, which decided to contribute its experience in lighting monuments extending the intervention it has been doing for a few years.
In Latin America there are several monuments that were intervened by the campaign. Among them are the Angel of Independence in Mexico and the Christ of Corcovado in Brazil.
But lighting is only part of the support Philips has decided to give to this campaign. Deborah DiSanzo, CEO of the company's health care line, said the awareness program is based on the reach and work they execute from different areas.
