International. Making the future of audio technology tangible, that was the watchword of Sennheiser in its participation in prolight+sound. At the stand, visitors were able to enjoy the HE 1 headphones and the Ambeo 3D Audio immersion sound experience through a reference equipment with Neumann speakers.
The main attraction of the Sennheiser and Neumann.Berlin stand was the Sound Experience Room, which offered listening sessions with Sennheiser's HE 1 headphones, AMBEO 3D audio, and stereo demonstrations and surround sound with Neumann speakers.
As part of Ambeo's demonstrations, sound engineer Gregor Zielinsky played not only original 9.1 recordings but will mix stereo material generated by using his own special algorithm to show the full potential of the playback format. His reference equipment consisted of Neumann's KH 310 in all positions at the front, KH 120 for the four rear speakers and a KH 870 as a subwoofer.
Higher quality for the study
Whether for a home studio or a professional recording studio, visitors were able to experience the full range of recording solutions – from Neumann's classic U 87 microphone to an innovative product for Sennheiser's home studios. There was a special focus on Neumann products for home studies. The audio specialist's monitoring speakers were tested in the Sound Experience Room.
