Latin America. Three Casio ultra-short-throw LampFree projectors have been certified according to the TCO Certified environmental and social sustainability criteria, which recognizes the degree of sustainability in IT products worldwide.
The certification is awarded by TCO Development, a non-profit organization based in Stockholm, Sweden. The new ultra-short throw projection models that hold the TCO Certified seal are the LampFree XJ-UT351W, XJ-UT351WN and XJ-UT311WN.
"Casio LampFree projectors not only provide the most advanced technology, they are also an environmentally friendly and sustainable option for consumers. It is an honor to receive another TCO Certified recognition for our new ultra-short throw projectors, we will continue to develop mercury-free solutions in the field of projection technology," said Claudia Romo, Senior Manager of the Projector Division at Casio Mexico.
TCO Certified products meet strict criteria regarding their environmental impact, life cycle, ergonomic design and pro-health and safety features, as well as having socially responsible manufacturing processes.
To achieve certification, products must go through a rigorous verification process that evaluates multiple factors at each phase of the product lifecycle; that its manufacture is socially responsible, its operation safe and energy efficient, that the use of hazardous substances is reduced or eliminated and that at the end of its useful life it can be given responsible management to waste.
The current criteria, called TCO Certified Projectors 2.0, also require projectors to operate with high quality image display and to include an Eco Mode to consume less energy and reduce the level of audible noise. Additionally, the projector and all its components must be free of mercury and other hazardous substances. The total amount of mercury in the lamp must be declared.
