Latin America. Atlona has expanded its already extensive line of 4K/UHD audiovisual (AV) troubleshooting devices for high dynamic range (HDR) formats with the introduction of the AT-HDR-EX-70C-KIT transmitter/receiver kit.
The new solution, which extends HDMI, power and control signals via HDBaseT, is available immediately and will make its debut this week during the company's 15th anniversary celebrations at ISE 2018 booth 5-U80 until Friday (Amsterdam RAI).
Like its sibling AT-HDR-EX-70-2PS, the HDR-EX-70C-KIT supports HDMI data rates of up to 18 Gbps and combines latency-free and visually lossless compression with the reliability and practicality of HDBaseT to deliver pristine image quality over distances that exceed the limits of HDMI cabling. With this solid two-way extension base of infrared (IR) and RS-232 control signals, the HDR-EX-70C-KIT simplifies installation and reduces the number of cables by eliminating the need to extend cables between the AV source, control system and display.
The new extender kit also includes power over Ethernet (PoE), where power to the receiver is supplied by the transmitter via the HDBaseT connection. This simplifies integration and also allows the receiver to be installed on a display or projector without the need for local AC power. At the transmitter end, the included power supply supplies enough power for up to three Atlona HDBaseT extenders, allowing you to maintain order by not having multiple power supplies in the equipment racks.
The economical HDR-EX-70C-KIT carries HDMI signals up to 4K/UHD at 60Hz with 4:4:4 color sampling on easily integrated CAT6a or CAT7 cables, and streams 1080p video up to 230 feet (70 meters) and 4K content with enhanced HDR up to 130 feet (40 meters). Offering flexible support for new and emerging 4K/UHD video sources and displays, the new extender supports HDCP 2.2 and supports all video resolutions, audio formats (including PCM, Dolby®, and DTS®), and color space standards included in the HDMI 2.0b specification. With the ability to stream metadata for HDR content, the solution supports 4K HDR10 format at 60 Hz (4:2:0 color subsampling, 10-bit color) and Dolby® Vision at 30 Hz.
Built-in HDBaseT link integrity testing provides additional value to system integrators and end users by allowing them to easily verify connectivity attributes, such as the quality of twisted pair cables and RJ-45 termination, or troubleshoot these attributes. Through a test button and LED on the transmitter unit, the integrity of the HDBaseT link between the transmitter and receiver can be quickly and visually confirmed. In addition, a free software utility provides real-time link status, along with detailed diagnostic and signal information.
The HDR-EX-70C-KIT offers exceptional value for point-to-point AV extension and as part of larger 4K HDR distribution and routing systems, along with other HDR-compatible Atlona solutions, such as the recently launched AT-HDR-H2H-44M matrix switch. The new extender is ideal for residential and commercial AV applications, from HDR-equipped entertainment centers to detailed visualization and simulation applications.
The HDR-EX-70C-KIT is now being delivered and is backed by Atlona's award-winning 10-year limited warranty and customer support services.
