Colombia. Equipped with the latest in technological tools for education, the Icesi University of Cali, Colombia, inaugurated its first digital education classroom, seeking to facilitate knowledge and teaching through academic, didactic and interactive content.
The new room, equipped with Hewlett Packard technology, has an interactive Smart Board with a touch-sensitive surface; a 42-inch digital signage screen, used to present content such as text, graphics, animations and motion video; the Pocket Whiteboard tool, which turns the classroom dashboard into an enhanced learning space.
In addition, the Presentation Station 1000, a kind of "cart" that provides a 23-inch desk and has the ability to store the information that the teacher or presenter needs; as well as an online meeting room that functions as a virtual classroom.
Finally, the Classroom manager application, which allows multiple student screens to be viewed from the same PC, monitors instant messages, observes, shares and controls the screen of any student.
Camilo Arrázola, Marketing Manager of the computing unit for the commercial segment of Hewlett Packard Colombia, said that "we are sure that these interactive and collaborative learning initiatives, which make technology a class tool and not a distracting factor, respond to the specific needs of the education sector in Colombia."
