International. Avid released the AAX Native and AAX DSP plug-ins of the Pro series, which include three new advanced processors to allow users to achieve their best sound. Pro Compressor and Pro Expander (now available), along with Pro Limiter (soon to be sold), are the first plug-ins in the series, joining a collection for the AAX platform.
The three plug-ins guarantee sound quality, measurement, low latency and efficient use of the DSP. Three functions of these new systems stand out. The first is Pro Limiter is a transparent sound limiter that allows you to maximize the sonority of any mix, without distortion or hardness.
It itself offers a variety of features that allow you to control your reaction precisely, such as clean, transparent sound that fits into the mix, unique character knob that adds smooth saturation to the signals, and the EBU R128 loudness measurement allows you to quickly normalize the audio.
The second feature is the Pro Compressor, a compressor that allows you to model sounds, improve tracks and bring mixes to life. It offers four detectors and a Smart mode to change the way the compressor sounds and reacts. The "Solo" function isolates only the gain reduction part of the audio material, allowing for faster and easier configuration adjustments.
The third is the Pro Expander, which gives mixes more energy, reduce noise and "ducking" the signal. Its "Look ahead" mode with up to 15 milliseconds of predictive analytics to achieve perfect results when setting up a "hard" noise gate, even on low-frequency signals. The "Upward" mode increases the dynamics of the material, for greater creativity. And ek Mode "Ducker" with its own algorithm and optimized detector, emulates the sound and natural feel of fader movements.
