Fundamentals for Electronic Systems Technicians

BedRock LearningThis comprehensive course offers a solid foundation in construction methods, electrical basics, workplace safety, tools, and industry standards.

The technical principles of structured cabling, including cabling, components, and sockets, are explained along with design and installation procedures, testing, and troubleshooting methods.

Prerequisites

Students should have a basic understanding of what residential technologies are and the benefits they provide, but no prior technical knowledge is required.

• Define several residential electronic systems
• Explain the benefits of electronic systems
• Recognize the components of residential construction
• Create a secure workplace environment
• Use project plans and documents
• Design and document a structured cabling system
• Pre-wiring a structured cabling system
• Safely install and terminate a structured cabling system
• Test and troubleshoot a structured cabling system

Learning and Evaluation Process

Esquema de CursoEach student receives a username and password that provides private and supervised access to the online course. Progression through the course is managed through an LMS (Learning Management System).

The course is divided into 11 sections and at the end of each section, the student receives a quiz consisting of 8 questions. A 100% grade is required to move on to the next section. The student is notified which questions are answered incorrectly. The student can review the materials and answer the questions again. There are unlimited attempts on each questionnaire.

After completing all the course material and the section quizzes, the student is required to take a final test of 40 randomly selected questions from a group of questions. A score of 80% or higher is considered a passing grade.

A Certificate of Compliance will be available for the student to print when the Final Test is successfully completed.
