One of the headquarters of the BBVA Bancomer bank in Mexico, which has the latest technology for customer service, appointed the company Kolo to install a large LED screen on the façade of its headquarters.

Undoubtedly, one of the concerns that companies that occupy a place within a shopping center have is to differentiate themselves from the rest of the premises that are around and, above all, stand out among their competitors.
Achieving this is a challenge that involves more than just a hefty budget or a marketing strategy lasting six months. The same applies to financial institutions that are within the shopping complex.
A bank not only seeks to offer its traditional services but to be the point of reference inside the place. This is one of the objectives that were sought to be achieved with this project and without a doubt we have achieved it.
The New Frontiers: Smart Banks
Bbva Bancomer Financial Group is a private financial institution with a significant presence in Mexico, offering a wide variety of financial products and services. Its main activity is carried out through BBVA Bancomer (the Bank), a leading banking subsidiary in Mexico in terms of deposits, credit portfolio, number of ATMs and branches available.
Taking into account the renown of the institution, the project had to meet a very high expectation by carrying out a high quality work that would give BBVA Bancomer the positioning it was looking for in the shopping center, developing a "digital branch".
The project consisted of the development of an LED screen that would cover the entire exterior wall of the bank where BBVA Bancomer's new and innovative ATMs and practices are located. The screen would have in dimensions more than 27 meters long by 2.5 meters high.
The highlight of this project is that the pilots and ATMs would be sharing the screen area; In addition, 15 of the total 27 meters of the wall to be covered are a curve that involved a custom manufacture and a specialized facility that met the security requirements of the bank. That is why he looked for a team of professionals who brought his expectations to fruition.
Kolo DS is the company responsible for the successful development of this Mega Site that BBVA Bancomer was looking for for its branch in the Perisur Shopping Center in Mexico City. Being a company with high standards of work and quality, and its experience in the development of special projects – such as the double circular screen in Paseo Interlomas – BBVA Bancomer does not hesitate to rely on its experience and ability to solve the challenges of an installation of this nature in an estimated time of three months.
The product
The features and specifications of this screen make it the first installation of its kind in Latin America. Here are some of the specifications:
• LED display: real 6mm pixel picth, BlackFace SMD LEDs, 16 bit electronics per real color, delivering a full range of 381 trillion colors.
• The screen size is 27 mts x 2.5 mtrs; 15 meters in curve fully manufactured ex profeso.
• The total resolution is 4480 pixels base by 416 pixels high.
• The software with which the entire display was synchronized is Broadsing, a world leader in content management software and Kolo's main partner in all its special implementations.
• A signal redundancy technology allows the display to continue working despite any inconvenience may occur to signal wiring or other problem.
• The Rack, which is the brain from which everything that happens with the screen is controlled, has all the technology to keep the entire display in continuous operation. It is programmed to turn off everything in case a power outage is very long and restart when the current is restored preserving the damaged equipment and always guaranteeing optimal operation.
• The computers responsible for processing so much information are designed for 24/7 use and only a company like Intel could deliver enough processing power to be able to reproduce this 4K content so smoothly. Intel core I7 was the only solution.
• The mechanical structure of the screen was custom designed to meet the demanding security standards that a bank like BBVA Bancomer imposes by providing a safe product/wall for the bank and for users.
Thanks to the large amount of talent of our partner Motions ADS, the content was created especially to coexist with the ATMs, practices and phone embedded in the screen delivering a unique experience when entering the branch. This solution also includes a sound system consisting of 14 Atlas speakers, arranged throughout the digital branch.
