Mexico. In 2014, Mexico generated 65,452 MW of electricity, of which 16,047 MW came from renewable sources, that is, 24.5% of the total installed capacity. It is estimated that by 2028, electricity generation from renewables will increase to 19,761 MW.
Today, business productivity goes hand in hand with the reduction of environmental impact and one of the strategies that aims towards the fulfillment of this objective is energy eco-efficiency, a philosophy integrated into the sustainable development plans of large organizations and to which more and more SMEs are joining.
The application of this process aims to improve the environment by reducing pollution, consuming less energy and generating less heat, by using elements such as: saving bulbs, fluorescent lamps, LED luminaires, electric optimizers, among others.
In this sense, energy eco-efficiency has represented an important link when it comes to merging sustainable practices with the care of the environment, presenting events in which professionals find lighting products necessary to reduce costs and make more sustainable projections, such is the case of ELA Expo Lighting America, an event that on this occasion will bring an interactive area called "Green Museum", where innovative products and lighting applications developed by companies committed to reducing environmental impact will be shown.
Among the exhibitors of this space will be: Philips, LJ Iluminación, Leviton, Acuity Brands and IPSA.
ELA Expo Lighting America 2016 will be held from February 24 to 26 in Centro Banamex, Mexico City, from 12:00 to 20:00 hrs.
