Mexico. Comstor promotes the Internet of Things in Latin America with the most complete portfolio in industrial communication ready for companies to face the demands of different vertical markets such as Oil & Gas and Utilities-Electricity.
Jhonatan Godinez, Business Development Maganer IoT of Comstor Mexico, led the event called "The New Industrial Revolution", on February 25 at the Fiesta Americana Grand Chapultepec Hotel, Mexico City. This roadshow was the most anticipated by attendees to learn all about the Internet of Things (IoT) from the point of view of Cisco, Comstor and their integrators.
Manuel Rivas, Cisco IoT Sales, noted Cisco's vision on the subject: "IoT goes beyond connecting devices, it is not about a phone or a tablet but about communicating sensors, cameras, traffic lights, under a better experience for users. So at Cisco we are committed to the Internet of Everything (IoE), which is about connecting people, processes, data and things on the network that will transform businesses, operations and careers."
Rivas added: "Under this mission, no manufacturer has the complete solution for everything so I recommend specializing in every industry, in every market vertical. For example, we have everything packaged, with robust solutions such as Digital Manufactura, with which we have had great success in Mexico." Finally, he invited IT and OT attendees to come and talk to define their needs and ideas together, and take better advantage of the Cisco portfolio, innovative products with a 5-year warranty in the market."
A moment later, two success stories were presented:
1.- "Los Ramones II Norte", the most significant gas transport infrastructure project in the last 40 years. Completed in January 2016. They participated in ISI Mustang that integrated Cisco technology, and Roue Consultores, a company that collaborated as a consultant in this project.
2.- Pesquería Thermoelectric Power Plant, the plant built in Nuevo León that has an advance of 70% and will conclude next April. The distributors of Comstor INDESP and Ictsa participated, who granted all the Cisco technology and services for the communication of the physical, administrative and production network that converge in the same system successfully.
Finally, Tonatiuh Estrada, Cisco Presale at Comstor, and Manuel Rivas made a live demonstration of Cisco solutions for vertical markets, segments where they have penetrated strongly in Mexico.
It is worth mentioning that more than 50% of companies worldwide have plans to adopt IoT solutions in the coming years; while by 2020, it is estimated that there will be more than 50 billion devices connected to the network, that is, an average of 7 computers per person.
In the afternoon, Comstor brought together its partners who had the opportunity to learn about Comstor's EDGE IoT Program, Cloud solutions to correctly complement the IoT, and the different incentive programs that the wholesaler has for its partners.
