Latin America. After being named for the first time as a "Cool Tool" Finalist in the Emerging Technology Solution category in the 2017 EdTech Digest Awards program, Boxlight's Labdisc has been named the winner, surpassing nine other technology solutions for this competitive awards program.
"We are helping to shape STEM education, opening the door to research-based learning in a variety of science fields, including biology, chemistry, physics, environment and geography," said Mark Elliott, CEO of Boxlight. "With our portable STEM science lab, we are successfully taking the science classroom anywhere and helping students connect and engage with science no matter where they are, like never before."
In the seventh installment of this awards program, a series of outstanding solutions were recognized as well as personalities that stand out in the education and technology sector. And as always, a distinguished panel of industry influencers and veterans conducted this year's evaluation procedures.
Boxlight's Labdisc stood out among the judges for the direct impact it is having on science classrooms around the world in terms of convenience, cost, and portability. Presented as an All-in-One, complete laboratory that fits in the palm of your hand, the Labdisc is the only solution for K12 science with up to 14 wireless sensors built into a single compact device.
It also includes unique features such as GPS (this traces the values of the sensor with a layer on a Google Maps map), offers a battery with more than 150 hours of duration. These labs help students connect and engage with science anywhere. It also serves as an ideal solution for long-term experiments such as plant growth, climate change and pollution.
