Argentina. The lighting project of the Cathedral of Buenos Aires presented as its main challenge the lack of lighting in the main altar and in the rest of the nave of the Church. It also had old, inefficient and high consumption luminaires, which translated into high sums in municipal light taxes.
The BGH Lighting team participated in the challenge, who offered, as a first step, the replacement of all the luminaires of the cathedral with LED technology, thus solving the deficiencies in the light quality of the cathedral, as well as the problem of high rates of energy consumption.
The new luminaire includes 20 Stickwash 300x3 reflectors of 150W in the main altar, 15 Stickwash 300x1 of 50W installed in the central nave and 210 units AR111 Warm White in the side chapels.
The replacement of the luminaire of the Cathedral of Buenos Aires by LED technology translates into a saving in consumption greater than 70%, as the main benefit, as well as a saving in the maintenance of the luminaires given the height of placement of the reflectors (14 - 16 meters).
