Audio-Technica offers new microphones for instruments

Latin America. Audio-Technica introduced new systems including the cardioid condenser microphone for ATM350a instruments. The new systems feature the AT8491S surface mount or the AT8491G guitar mount. Each new stand is offered in three formats: complete system (micro ATM350a, stand and flexo), only support and package with the stand and flexo only.

With a clean, clear and well-balanced response even in applications with high sound pressure levels, the ATM350a cardioid instrument condenser microphone offers discreet and robust mounting solutions for a wide range of instruments, such as woodwind instruments, string instruments, brass instruments, drums and pianos.

The micro ATM350a is capable of managing 159 dB of maximum sound pressure level to respond perfectly to a wide range of extremely powerful and dynamic sound sources. It features a cardioid polar pattern, which reduces the uptake of lateral and posterior sounds, and protects against feedback. The micro's in-line power module incorporates a switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter to help reduce the uptake of unwanted ambient noise.

The AT8491S surface bracket is designed for accordions and other complicated mounting surfaces. The serrated bracket can be fixed permanently by the accordion screw and the included adhesive silicone pad, or temporarily with the 3M Dual Lock™ pads. A protective film is also included to prevent damage to the finish of the instrument.

The AT8491G guitar holder features an adjustable thumb clip with anti-mark pads that is fixed on guitars and other stringed instruments with body depths of 90-135mm.

The new packages join existing ATM350a systems, which include the ATM350D battery mount system (5" flexo), the ATM350PL piano mount system (9" flexo), the ATM350U universal clamping clamp system (5" flexo), the ATM350UL universal clamping clamp system (9" flexo) or the ATM350W woodwind instrument mounting system (5" flexo).
