Dolby Atmos and DTS:X can work with lossless high-resolution audio. Its biggest advantage is when used in conjunction with a 7.1-channel system plus ceiling speakers. This is known as 7.1.2 (two ceiling speakers) or 7.1.4 (four ceiling speakers).
If you use two ceiling speakers, the speakers should be placed slightly in front of the main listening area, one on the left and one on the right. If four ceiling speakers are used, two speakers should be placed slightly in front and two speakers behind the main listening area, that is, one speaker of each pair placed on the left and the other on the right.
