This company arises from the union of Sharp Corporation and NEC Corporation with their display division. The previously announced transaction to form a joint venture was achieved through the acquisition of 66% of the shares of NEC Display Solutions Ltd, NDS.
In connection with the completion of the transaction, NDS has changed its company name to Sharp NEC Display Solutions Ltd., "SNDS", and has commenced business operations as a subsidiary of Sharp. The newly formed SNDS will continue its focus on the BtoB display business, producing and developing a wide range of visual display solutions for a variety of markets and applications.
Fujikazu Nakayama, senior chief executive officer and president of Sharp's commercial solutions business unit, will serve as president of the new business and Hisatsugu Nakatani, president of NEC Display Solutions, will serve as president of SNDS.
