Epson Receives Sustainability Recognition

epson, reconocimiento sostenibilidad,

Latin America. Epson has received the Platinum rating from the independent platform EcoVadis, based in France, for its sustainability management. The platinum ranking, established in the year 2020, indicates that the Epson company has been ranked within the top 1% of companies in the industry. In the previous three years, Epson received the Gold rating. This recognition is granted to those companies that are within the top 5% of the companies evaluated.

The Platinum ranking has been awarded in recognition of Epson's global corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. EcoVadis' assessment focuses on four themes: the environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. Epson received an "Outstanding" (the highest score) in the environment, as well as high scores in sustainable procurement, labor and human rights, and ethics, ranking in the top 1% of companies in the computer and peripheral manufacturing industry.

"Sustainability is a key management strategy for Epson. Therefore, to have received the Platinum classification, after three consecutive years of obtaining the Gold classification, is a great honor and has immense value. As stated in the Epson Group Management Philosophy, our goal is for Epson to become an indispensable company for our customers and society. We believe that actions that demonstrate good governance and social responsibility throughout our supply chain are essential elements to achieve this goal. The entire Group will work closely to further promote technologies and deliver more efficient, compact and accurate products and services that provide solutions to societal problems through the Epson value chain and achieve a more sustainable world," said Yasunori Ogawa, President of Epson.

EcoVadis offers a common, independent and reliable platform to evaluate and classify more than 65,000 groups and companies from 200 industries and 160 countries using CSR evaluation criteria that are based on sustainability standards from thousands of external sources, such as NGOs, trade union associations, international organizations, local governments and audit bodies.

Epson has identified six essential elements, including "advancing the frontiers of industry" and "achieving sustainability in a circular economy," and is currently working to deliver products and services that contribute to social sustainability. We are leveraging our efficient, compact and precise technologies to drive innovations in four areas, including inkjet printing. We believe that our technology can help reduce environmental impact, increase productivity and play an important role in solving social problems and achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Epson seeks to achieve social sustainability and publishes information on its environmental initiatives, social value creation, corporate governance and other CSR activities in the Integrated Report and Sustainability Report. Such information is also published on the Social Responsibility pages of the company's website.
