Ecuador. Ecuador's largest cinema chain, Supercines, has opened a 16-theater theater in the city of Guayaquil that has been equipped with Christie cinema solutions, including pure RGB laser projectors, Christie Vive Audio and LCD digital signage displays.
The operation has been carried out through the integrator T&T Cinema LLC that supplied and installed all Christie equipment in the brand new complex.
Supercines Ceibos, such the name of the new cinema located in the Riocentro Ceibos shopping center, has capacity for 3,034 spectators and is the largest cinema in the country. 15 of its 16 rooms feature Christie's pure RGB laser projectors of the CP2320-RGB and CP2315-RGB models based on Christie Real lighting technology| Laser, which guarantees excellent image quality and brightness levels higher than DCI standards throughout the natural life of the equipment.
Supercines already knew Christie's pure RGB laser technology since 2019, when it inaugurated its Supercines Ámbato complex with seven pure RGB laser projectors of the brand. "We decided to rely again on the Christie RealLaser models for Riocentro Ceibos because the experience with these equipment has been very positive and they offer us great image quality and an excellent range of colors," said Marcel Morán, general manager of Supercines. "It is one of the best lines of laser projectors on the market, standing out for the quality of colors, the ease of use and the almost zero maintenance they require," he added.
For the sound of the new complex, Supercines has chosen Christie Vive Audio, including 259 screen channel and surround speakers, and 55 subwoofers. "We have Vive Audio in other complexes and the truth is that it is a solution that offers us great fidelity, sharpness and clarity in the sound, in addition to its speakers being very aesthetic," said Marcel Morán.
In addition, Supercines Ceibos has also relied on Christie to animate its lobbies with digital signage. Thus, the complex has deployed almost 100 Christie SUHD551-L LCD panels. These are 55 displays and 4K UHD resolution, designed for 16/7 operation, with built-in speakers, are ideal for digital signage applications.
"With these panels we want to give a more digital, animated and innovative image to customers; they also allow to modify their content by network, and their useful life is more durable than other types of monitors, "said Morán.
Diego López, general manager OF NOLA and Christie's Andean Region, said: "We love to see how Supercines, a long-standing Christie customer who started with Xenon projectors from our brand, has understood the leap in quality and savings that pure RGB laser projection allows for its cinemas. And we are especially proud that they have trusted Christie not only for projection, but also for the sound and digital signage of their lobbies, reaffirming us as the quintessential global supplier for cinemas of all sizes and budgets."
Supercines, belonging to Corporación El Rosado, has 24 cinema complexes in 15 cities of the country that add up to almost 200 screens, constituting the largest cinema chain in Ecuador.
