Corporate Multimedia installed videoconferencing solution

Mexico. For its new offices in Mexico City, a local company appointed the Corporate Multimedia integrator in order to have a solution for videoconferencing and collaborative spaces. Jorge Sánchez, general director of Corporate Multimedia, told AVI Latin America the details of this project.

"We were invited to participate in this project, as part of the client's office shift to a more modern and comfortable space to work in. The installation was carried out in the client's new offices located in Torre Reforma in Mexico City. It is an office in which, normally, about 15 people work. One of the most important requirements of this project is the flexibility for communication between the members of this office with others who are locally or even in other countries," said Jorge Sánchez.

To respond to the need to maintain a communication platform between its different offices around the world, several conference rooms were equipped for one, four and more people, which were called booths, in which a Zoom Room videoconferencing system was installed, including: screen with connectivity to share computer desktop, webcam, as well as a platform to manage the use of the room and that users can organize their schedules meetings.

For the management of the rooms, tablets with a pedestal to the floor were installed, from which the availability of each room can be verified. Inside each cabin, a screen and a desktop socket were installed to charge laptops or mobile devices and to share the screen video.

"This is one of those rare cases where the customer already knows what they want from the beginning and there are no surprises. The project was correctly planned and sized from the beginning, the installation requirements and services necessary for the implementation were verified from the beginning, so the adaptations were minimal, achieving an implementation without re-work, "said the director of Corporate Multimedia.

He added that with the solution they implemented, the client has a standardized architecture with all their offices worldwide that allows their employees to communicate with each other in a simple and efficient way.

Jorge Sánchez concluded that "the definition of the technologies to be implemented was a requirement from the beginning to maintain this standard collaborative platform in all offices worldwide, using the same devices. In general, the project was developed in an orderly manner. As a relevant aspect or challenge, perhaps the biggest was to coordinate to fulfill our mission, with the different teams that participated simultaneously to finish this new office: architecture, industrial security, information technology. Each of them with needs and times defined for their own scopes".

Corporate Multimedia is part of ConsorcioTec, the first purchasing group for integrators in Latin America.
