Epson receives recognition again in sustainability

epson sostenibilidad

Latin America. Epson has received, for the second consecutive year, the Platinum rating from the independent platform EcoVadis, based in France, for its sustainability management. The Platinum ranking, established in 2020, indicates that the Epson company was positioned among the top 1% of companies in the industry.

The Platinum rating was awarded in recognition of Epson's global sustainability initiatives. Among the four topics evaluated by EcoVadis, Epson received high scores in environment, sustainable procurement, labor and human rights, and ethics, ranking within the top 1% of companies in the industry.

"In Epson's corporate vision and business strategy, we have prioritized the solution of society's problems and, especially, the sustainability of subsurface resources. It is a great honor to receive this Platinum rating for the second year in a row. In addition to setting ambitious goals to achieve our Environmental Vision of becoming carbon negative and eliminating the use of subsurface resources by 2050, we continue to implement measures to ensure good governance and social responsibility throughout our supply chain, including the acquisition of RBA certification at some of our major production facilities. Primarily, I believe this Platinum rating communicates to our customers that Epson is a company that can be trusted, that it is determined to achieve sustainability and that it will fulfill its responsibility as a good corporate citizen," said Yasunori Ogawa, President of Epson.

EcoVadis offers a common, independent and reliable platform to evaluate and qualify more than 75,000 groups and companies around the world using evaluation criteria that are based on sustainability standards from thousands of external sources, such as NGOs, trade unions, international organizations, local governments and audit bodies.
