Latin America. Hall Technologies has added a CODEC extender switch to its line called Gemini. Known for its duality, Gemini is both receiver and transmitter for simplified localized presentation support for classrooms and meeting rooms of all sizes.
"Gemini was built to provide AV, USB, HDMI, DP, VGA and USB-C switching, plus system control for meeting spaces using PC-based conferencing codecs like Teams, Zoom, Skype and Webex," says VP of Technology Ken Aguila. "This kit offers six video inputs shared between both devices for HDMI, Display Port, VGA plus analog audio input and USB-C video signals. It's a workhorse, and when combined with our Ranger, CAM-1080PTZ, HT-SATELLITE-BT and our cables, it becomes an ideal total room solution for classrooms and conference rooms in a variety of configurations."
Gemini has six built-in USB ports, three on the transmitter and three on the receiver, allowing for numerous human interface (HID) devices as well as USB cameras and microphones. The kit supports a UHD source up to 4K/UHD at 60Hz with 4:2:0 color subsampling.
All audio, video, data, control, USB and Ethernet transmission between the two devices is via a single Ethernet-enabled HDBaseT link up to 100m/330ft. It is intended to simplify the integration of classroom and small office systems, for installation under conference tables and on lecterns, to provide localized presentation change support.
