Mexico. Christie HS Series projectors are illuminating the façade of the Cathedral of Tuxtla, one of the most iconic buildings in Chiapas, Mexico. The rental company Puntos Audiovisuales is in charge of executing the mapping, organized by the City Council of Tuxtla Gutiérrez through the Municipal Tourism Bureau.
The projection seeks to highlight the culture, music and traditions of Chiapas, and continue to promote tourism in the city. The show is running every day at two times (20:00 and 21:00 hours), and has already become one of the main attractions for visitors to the historic center of the city.
To make this possible, two Christie DWU15-HS projectors, supplied by Christie partner Wesco Anixter, have been mounted on metal tower-type structures in front of the cathedral at a shooting distance of 37 meters to create a mapping of 17 meters of base and 11 meters high.
This 1DLP laser technology projector model has 15,750 lumens and WUXGA resolution, and comes equipped with Christie BoldColor + technology, which offers improved color performance with deeper blacks and more natural and realistic on-screen visuals.
"We chose this equipment for its laser technology and low maintenance, and of course for its quality and power. And the truth is that they are demonstrating great color fidelity by offering vivid and bright images, and all this with silent operation and great reliability," said Víctor Bermúdez, general director of Puntos Audiovisuales.
He added: "With only these two teams we have been able to mount an impressive audiovisual experience that immerses the public in a world of light and color, and in a site as emblematic as the Cathedral of Tuxtla."
