Latin America. Vari-Lite upgraded the lighting engine to a higher performance one for its VL2600 series luminaires. The upgrade provides significantly higher performance than the popular line of moving head luminaires.
At the same time, it aligns with Signify's commitment to sustainability by promoting the circular economy and minimizing waste by extending the life cycle of the existing product rather than creating new iterative versions, to make a positive impact on the environment. and society.
Originally launched in the spring of 2018, the VL2600 series is, to date, one of the most popular Vari-Lite luminaires ever produced. With a profile, wash, and spot version, the VL2600 series is a complete family of luminaires with a wide color palette, a wide range of features, and a consistent lighting engine throughout the series. A VL2600 series luminaire can be rented on every continent in the world, and the new easily replaceable lighting engine increases sustainability by extending the life of these highly specific luminaires with noticeably higher performance and the same excellent features.
The VL2600 series includes a wide range of high-demand features, including CMY color mixing, variable CTO, fixed and rotating gobo wheels, iris, and frost.
Sustainability is central to the strategy of Vari-Lite, which boasts some of the most durable moving head luminaires in the industry, and many luminaires remain in use decades after their original use. This focus on a circular economy aligns with the corporate strategies of parent company Signify, a global leader in sustainability that has been 100% carbon neutral and zero waste to landfill since 2020.
"When we developed the VL2600 series, it was always going to be a platform product on which to build our sustainable future, capable of updating and improving as technology or trends change. As a sustainable business leader, our intention is never simply to launch a large number of new products that replace or render irrelevant our current portfolio. That's why the new VL2600 Series lighting engine leverages advances in LED technology to increase the performance of the current family of luminaires, reducing costs and impact on the environment," said Martin Palmer, Vari-Lite Product Management and Marketing Lead at Signify.
