ISE. Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) will present an innovative welcome screen at the South Access of Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via venue during its historic 20th edition, which will be held from January 30 to February 2, 2024.
The 193-square-meter invisible LED display will become a permanent fixture of the venue and will make its debut at ISE 2024, the first event where its installation will be showcased. Thanks to its impressive size and strategic location, the display promises to captivate attendees while allowing them to see inside the building through the content, creating a perfect amalgam of technology and architecture.
Mike Blackman, Managing Director of Integrated Systems Events, said: "As the world's attention turns to Barcelona for ISE 2024, we're thrilled to showcase the best of AV Pro and digital signage with a stunning new entry to welcome attendees from around the world to our 20th anniversary edition."
Marc Serra, Director of Services and Infrastructures at Fira de Barcelona, commented: "The installation of this transparent screen on the façade of our venue is a clear example of how holding cutting-edge events in many sectors has a great impact on the city and our institution. It also illustrates Fira's continued pursuit of innovation, use of new technologies and excellence." With the new infrastructure, Fira once again distinguishes itself as a leading institution that hosts the best events and has the best venues."
The transparent LED diplay, based on the MUXWAVE M3 LED display with a pixel pitch of 3.9 mm, offers flexibility to adapt to various surface geometries. The company SONO, in charge of the design and installation of the system, will seamlessly integrate more than 950 transparent screen mosaics into the glass façade of Fira de Barcelona at the South Entrance. Daniel Pérez Rubio, SONO's Sales Director, said: "We are excited to be working on this brilliant project for ISE 2024. Our experience in offering experiences where light and sound mix with emotions in all types of events is perfect for this pivotal project for this special anniversary show."
This innovative facility requires a robust and flexible media server to deliver stable and visually inspiring content to ISE audiences over the four days. Ventuz and Realtime Department work closely with the ISE 2024 team to ensure a seamless bridge between programming and on-site installation for the exhibition.
Christoph Gockel, one of the Managing Directors of Realtime Department, said: "Realtime Department, which has its origins in the events industry, brings all kinds of impressive content to the stages and screens of this world. Whether visually stunning, sensory, kinetic or interactive, permanent installations are now also part of the company's portfolio. We have been a content partner of the MUXWAVE display supplier, LANG AG, at ISE for 11 years and are delighted to be part of the team on this project, for what is probably the largest installation of a MUXWAVE display in Europe. The effects that can be achieved with the content on such a large glass surface, approximately 20 meters wide and 11 meters high, are very exciting. Although the MUXWAVE display is still a relatively new product, we have already been able to carry out several projects with it. Combined with Ventuz's UNIQVUE Experience Framework (which includes a content management system and outline), the company is perfectly positioned for this task."
Ventuz's real-time software brings two key features: the ability to reproduce huge amounts of visual data and live interactive content that can be displayed at any time during the four days of ISE. This flexibility allows you to toggle between multiple pre-programmed content streams and live, real-time updates of the show, including social media channels and QR codes for audience engagement.
Ventuz brings 20 years of experience to Barcelona to support and direct the content of the South Access screen. Its power in data-driven, real-time graphics for experiential installations provides the show with stable and proven playback throughout the week. A dual-server Ventuz Runtime cluster will provide the visual appeal to the MUXWAVE LED wall, and the Ventuz Multi-GPU cluster will allow content to be played with fewer servers and reduce upfront hardware costs.
Mike Steinbrecher, Global Sales Director at Ventuz, said: "It is an honour to work alongside ISE on such an innovative project. At Ventuz we are delighted to provide reproduction on the huge transparent LED welcome mural, allowing Fira to offer immersive stories in real time to its visitors."
