Mexico. Video conferencing solution manufacturer Boom Collaboration has launched a dedicated "meeting room in a box" video kit designed especially for large rooms.
The all-in-one solution includes a smart video bar, expandable microphones, and a single-cable connection hub, designed to simplify installations and take advantage of the high demand for "Bring Your Own Device" (BYOD) deployments.
This proposition is part of a new range of complete solutions that reflect the Texas-based company's philosophy of delivering better meetings in a simple way.
The BYOD Large Videobar kit is available in https://boom.co/ and includes the popular HALO video bar, two microphones, and the ZYGO connectivity hub. It is available in black or white colors.
"In recent years, the video conferencing market has been a rollercoaster ride, with two clearly defined paths: dedicated room systems gaining popularity, while BYOD alternatives seemed to be on the decline, especially in larger organizations," explained Fredrik Hörnkvist, co-founder of Boom Collaboration.
"However, broader industry analyses reflect our own findings: the use of individual devices is booming. Based on our conversations, sales, and interest globally, the ratio is 80/20. BYOD has made a strong comeback, thanks to its plug-and-play simplicity, lower costs, and platform-agnostic approach."
He added: "Our new strategy focuses on the creation of complete 'meeting room in a box' kits. These are designed to simplify the process of choosing the right equipment for each room, optimize the user experience, and avoid headaches in the facility. Our new large room video bar kit will add even more momentum to the BYOD model."
The solution is led by the HALO video bar, which features ultra HD 4K performance, a wide 120° viewing angle, AI auto framing, speaker tracking, 10x zoom ePTZ, six digital microphones and the option of up to eight additional expandable microphones.
Adaptation
Many companies are opting for flexible and cost-effective solutions, agrees Holli Hulett, also a co-founder. "The pandemic caused a shift towards more agile and plug-and-play systems, where users wanted to use their own devices without relying on permanent systems in the rooms. There's also more customization, as in the case of screen sharing."
He added: "The flexibility and reduced cost of BYOD solutions – where users connect their laptops or mobile devices to a room's AV system – have seen a significant increase, as hybrid and flexible working models have become more common.
"This is especially popular with small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) adopting hybrid work. They outnumber large organizations by approximately 1000:1, creating more volume and opportunities for distributors compared to dedicated systems. Our new kit designed for large rooms makes it easy for installers and customers to create the ideal BYOD experience for meetings."
