International. The European Council for an Efficient Energy Economy, ECEEE, created an award to highlight companies that manufacture televisions that produce energy-efficient equipment.
The first version of the Sead medal, which was awarded a few days ago, was awarded to the companies Samsung and LG, for manufacturing the most efficient televisions in Europe, highlighted in three categories differentiated by the size of the equipment.
The manufacturer Samsung took two Sead medals of Global Efficiency for its participating TVs in the categories small, which is less than 29 inches, and medium, less than 42 folds. For its part, LG won the medal of the Large Size category, which recognizes TVs between 42 and 50 inches.
The representatives of the ECEEE, indicated that with this recognition they seek to highlight the work of manufacturers in products with high standards of energy efficiency that can be acquired by anyone and not a laboratory product or in the research stage.
According to data from the entity, 18 million kilowatts of energy could be saved throughout Europe, if all the televisions currently sold had the features and technologies used by the teams that were awarded by Samsung and LG.
