Chile. Seeking to offer in rental 100% of the services for large events with its own capacity and technology, and after an investment of US $ 2.6 million, the Chilean company SAV audiovisual support, acquired the company JMA Iluminación.
According to what was stated to AVI LATINOAMÉRICA by Hernán Godoy, commercial manager of SAV, so far their capacity in terms of lighting reached events of maximum 300 people, a restriction that on several occasions prevented them from organizing large events. In addition, they were also affected by the informality of the sector. They are now able to hold events of up to 3,500 people with their own lighting technology.
JMA Iluminación is a Chilean company that has 14 years in the local market, providing services and technical production for live events such as concerts, catwalks, openings and presentations, among others.
With this business, SAV not only acquires technology, but also includes qualified technical personnel who have extensive experience in the industry. José Miguel Aguilera, who until two weeks ago was the owner of JMA Iluminación, was linked to SAV to be in charge of coordinating the lighting segment within the company.
Hernán Godoy concludes that after this investment they expect to have a 40% growth in sales during the next year with all their segments: audio, projection, lighting and energy distribution.
