Chile. Currently the company SAV, Audiovisual Support, is in the process of installing AV technology for the convention center, the pool area and the common areas of the convention center of the Sheraton Miramar hotel, located in Viña del Mar.
Hernán Godoy, representative of SAV, commented that the project had been discussed since 2013 and in December they signed the agreements. "As in each of our interventions, the Sheraton Miramar has the latest technology. We are working with high international standards, all the equipment that is being installed has HDBaseT connectivity."
The works, which cost close to US$1.3 million, began on the first of April and are expected to be completed by mid-June. Hernán Godoy added that one of the difficulties they have had is that the works are being executed with the hotel open, so it has required greater control of the works so as not to affect the events that are being carried out or the guests.
The intervention in the Convention Center of the Sheraton Miramar includes the ten conference rooms that have capacity to serve up to 1,250 people together. Each room will be equipped with a digital signage screen that will keep attendees informed about the events that are taking place.
The SAV representative detailed some of the equipment installed: Bose speakers and amplifiers, Crestron systems for home automation, Epson projectors, image processing with Kramer, Biamp audio controllers and Shure microphones, among others.
Hernán Godoy concluded that when the installation is finished, "the ghosts of live events will be eliminated because having everything automated reduces assembly times and tests can be done to minimize the chances of errors. In addition, it will allow the hotel to increase sales by having the technology at hand and holding up to three events per day in each room."
The Sheraton Miramar will be in line with the Sheraton Santiago, a hotel also operated by SAV three years ago and which was listed as a leader in conference hotels.
