Latin America. Polycom and Microsoft have announced plans to expand the reach of Skype for Business meetings so that Polycom customers of any size can take advantage of their previous investments in video solutions while migrating to Microsoft Office 365 and the Skype for Business environment.
In addition, Microsoft customers who are new to video collaboration will have the option to use Polycom's proven technologies in their new deployments. Customers will be able to collaborate with other existing video platforms on the market using an interoperable cloud video service designed by Polycom and Microsoft.
The industry-leading RealPresence® Group Series meeting room video conferencing solutions will be certified for Skype for Business Server and supported in Office 365.Polycom® RealPresence Touch will have a user-friendly and familiar interface for Skype for Business that will make it even easier for Skype for Business users to integrate video conferencing into their work processes.
RealPresence Group Series solutions are used in all types of meetings, from small rooms to immersive telepresence rooms, which will allow Skype for Business to fit in all types of meeting rooms or boardrooms of any size.
In addition, as part of the latest project announced by Microsoft – Project Rigel, Polycom will provide a new line of room solutions, designed for Skype for Business, that will offer plug-and-play simplicity in a variety of configurations to meet the needs of businesses of all sizes and any meeting room. Additionally, Polycom's leading voice and video technologies, such as polycom® CX5100 and Polycom® RealPresence Trio™, will be certified for Project Rigel solutions.
The announcement signifies another step in the close relationship between the two companies and adds certification to the portfolio of voice solutions for Office 365 and Skype for Business.
