Latin America. Christie expands its series of laser phosphor projection systems with the worldwide launch of the Christie CP2208-LP, a DCI-compliant digital cinema projector. The event took place at CinemaCon 2016, which was held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas between April 11 and 14.
The CP2208-LP is a high-value projection system, meets DCI standards, is easy to maintain, reproduces DCI colors and has a low total cost of operation.
The Christie CP2208-L assures theater and chain theater owners a native brightness of 11,000 lumens, 3D capacity, virtually zero maintenance as it requires no lamp change, a low running cost and a low carbon footprint.
It is completed with the option of the integrated multimedia block Christie IMB-S2, although it also works with other blocks of the popular Series-2. The new projection system guarantees great flexibility of content, being able to project DCI, alternative, 3D content, or content developed at high frame rate.
"The Christie CP2208-LP is a DCI-compliant and value-for-money addition to digital cinema," says Allan Fernandes, Christie's Chief Product Officer. "It's the perfect solution for independent exhibitors, limited-budget art and rehearsal rooms, or for cinemas located in secluded locations where lamp maintenance may be a problem."
Conceived, developed and manufactured by Christie, a true world leader in digital laser cinema technology, Christie's new CP2208-LP is easy to operate and highly reliable. Capable of illuminating screens up to 10.5 meters wide with DCI color, the CP2208-LP supports various alternative content sources via dual HDMI ports per DVI, projecting bright and attractive images and content ranging from the latest Hollywood blockbuster to locally produced material anywhere in the world onto the screen.
