Latin America. Shure presented previews of the latest version of its Wireless Workbench Wireless Control Software, Version 6.12. The update is designed to put maximum power and flexibility in the hands of the user. The addition of several new features will help wireless system users better manage and control wireless system performance across the network, from pre-show planning to post-presentation analysis.
Shure has created a new logging feature designed to capture channel status information over time. Recorded information includes RF Level, Antenna Status, Audio Level, Interference, ShowLink and Battery Level. By using optimized data storage, the new feature records information from all networked channels for an indefinite period, provided that sufficient system resources exist.
The capture and visualization of the recorded data allows users to troubleshoot problems with the operation of the wireless system and determine their origin, should they arise. Wireless Workbench allows maximum control over the information deployed, allowing a complete customization of the visualized data to better meet the needs of users.
Version 6.12 also includes a new set of frequency coordination enhancements, designed to provide greater flexibility and control to those users who need to coordinate a large number of channels, such as:
- Scan Peak Management to process and classify peaks more accurately within recorded data
- Ignore IMDs to manually ignore the intermodulation spacing parameters (or IMDs) associated with a given set of frequencies, allowing for a greater number of calculated frequencies
- Customizable Coordination Order to adjust the frequency coordination order by dragging and dropping frequency groups into the Coordination Workspace.
- Now with version 6.12, you will be able to connect to devices from a remote location. With this update, Wireless Workbench 6 can be connected to devices outside the local network. Ideal for environments where devices are managed in separate subnets – separate VLANs, floors of an office building, scenarios in a park – this feature extends monitoring and control functionality beyond the local network to significantly increase flexibility and control.
"At its core, the enhanced features in Wireless Workbench 6.12 are dedicated to putting greater flexibility and added control in the hands of the users who need it most. By incorporating data logging, frequency coordination enhancements, and remote device control across subnets, we are responding to the complex challenges of enterprise-level networking and high-level frequency solutions," said Sam Drazin, Associate Product Manager at Shure.
Wireless Workbench Version 6.12 will be available for download in mid-2016 at es.shure.com/software.
