Epiphan launches 4K AV.io, to capture 4K video

InfoComm. Epiphan Video revealed its latest product in its line of recorders AV.io. AV.io 4K is a portable capture card that allows AV professionals to simply and quickly capture 4K video from HDMI sources.

Use 4K AV.io to capture 4K in perfect fidelity. You don't need any special installation on your computer, just plug it into your USB input and you can use it immediately. Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems automatically detect the recorder, ensuring compatibility with your preferred software, including Skype, Wirecast and QuickTime.

AV.io 4K captures 4K video up to 4096×2160 and has the ability to pass this signal through a computer or reduce it proportionally to meet the needs of your application. If it requires a 4K output but its input is only 1080p, it is not a problem, AV.io 4K will increase to a 4K output. Additionally, like other Epiphan Video products, AV.io 4K captures uncompressed Full HD (1080p) video at 60 fps. Regardless of the resolution, AV.io 4K can capture video with near-zero latency and ultra-high fidelity. Small enough to cader in the palm of your hand, but still strong in its aluminum case, AV.io 4K is the perfect companion to capture from your digital video source.

"After launching AV.io HD and AV.io SDI last year," said David Kirk, Epiphan's Vice President of Product Management, "we saw incredible enthusiasm for this kind of simple, effective technology that works simply. We wanted to provide that same experience with advanced 4K technology."
