FBT launched Vertus CS1000, its compact line array

Latin America. Created as a compromise-free solution for live artists and installers, the compact Vertus CS1000 line array delivers maximum performance in a modular, scalable design.

A lightweight, yet robust construction, combined with FBT's unmistakable engineering and elegance, have resulted in a system that can be mounted on stage in minutes or installed discreetly in elegant environments to deliver high-quality sound with controlled directivity.

It is a bi-amplified system composed of a 12" bass reflex subwoofer of great excursion and a passive satellite that connects to the subwoofer by means of a Neutrik Speakon connector and is equipped with six full range 3" neodymium motors. The subwoofer integrates a two-channel class D amplifier with switched source, which delivers 600 W RMS to the subwoofer and 400 W RMS to the satellite.

The subwoofer and satellite are birch plywood. For easy storage and transport, the subwoofer box has a compartment for the satellite and the supplied mounting mast. The compartment is provided with a special locking system.

Like the rest of FBT's products, Vertus CS1000 stands out for its elegant and effective engineering, as can be seen on the satellite mounting mast. Consisting of three sections, the mast allows users to adjust the height of the satellite according to their needs.

A special articulation allows the satellite to be oriented vertically to achieve the desired coverage in any room. No one is impassive when listening to the VERTUS CS1000: the stylized proportions of the satellite offer a wide horizontal dispersion of 110°, while the precise placement of the six 3" motors, forming a J-array, creates a vertical dispersion of 30° (+10° / −20°).

Need more power? Vertus CS1000 has a modular design, allowing two systems to be coupled to form a much more powerful assembly. In this configuration, the two subwoofers are stacked, while the satellites are placed on top of each other by means of optional accessories. This increases the maximum SPL by 6 dB. Coverage also increases: although horizontal dispersion does not vary, vertical dispersion increases to 40° (+20° / −20°).

Other features improve ease of use and ensure robust construction. The subwoofer is equipped with rubber-coated aluminum handles for a more comfortable grip, allowing the entire system, consisting of subwoofer, satellite, mounting mast, articulation and wiring, to be transported easily and comfortably.

The amplification module is protected inside a cast aluminum housing and has no fan. The integrated DSP processor offers eight carefully designed presets backed by FBT's long experience.

Finally, the VERTUS CS1000 is small in dimensions but powerful in sound. The volume of the satellite can be adjusted relative to that of the subwoofer in 8 levels from −4.5 to +5 dB. A selectable high-pass filter ensures optimal reproduction.

As your needs increase, you can continue to expand the compact VERTUS CS1000 line array: simply combine four systems in a stereo configuration (two on each side) and you can achieve an impressive peak power of 8000 W.
