Playbase, new sound solution from Sonos

Mexico. Playbase is the latest addition to Sonos' wireless multi-room sound system and, at the same time, the newest member of its line of speakers for home theater application. The concept of the Sonos Playbase arises from a strong fact: in homes, up to 70% of televisions are installed on some type of furniture, and not mounted on the wall.

At just 58mm in height, the Playbase encloses 10 drivers, which deliver everything the user expects from Sonos technology, great sound in movies, concerts or sports, when the TV is on, and uninterrupted music when it is off. Its structure is shown as a unique piece, without visible joints, resulting in a clean and smooth surface profile with more than 43 thousand small holes that make up a transparent acoustic grid.

Sonos developed the Playbase from the ground up, with unique manufacturing processes and materials that meet the level of quality that sets the company apart, including a complex insertion molding process and a custom-built glass polycarbonate exterior material, ready to keep vibration to a minimum and support the weight of a TV for many years to come.

Designed for TVs that are not wall-mounted, the Playbase is easily controlled and configured with just two cables (optical and power). Its sound expands to other rooms when connected wirelessly to the Sonos home sound system, and is both a speaker for the TV and one for enjoying music, with access to more than 80 online music services.

Later this year, and like any other Sonos speaker, the Playbase will be able to be controlled by voice commands and by any device compatible with Amazon's Alexa. The new Playbase and the well-known Playbar represent the Sonos offer to complement the performance of their TV, and now the user can choose the option of their preference, according to the one that best suits the assembly in their room.

The Sonos Playbase, in its black and white versions, will be available globally from April 2017. In Mexico, it will be marketed through the distribution channel of Intéligos, an exclusive wholesaler for the national market, made up of integrators, department stores and specialized stores.
