Latin America. The company Sennheiser announced that the Digital System 6000, the newest member of the professional microphone range, is already on the road. The system incorporates the Long Range transmission mode and the audio codec belonging to the high-quality Sennheiser Digital 9000 series.
At the same time, the system meets the business needs of rental companies, theaters, broadcasters and various venues, thanks to a flexible two-channel solution that allows the use of existing infrastructure. Designed for demanding live productions, the Digital 6000 also meets the challenges of shrinking the UHF spectrum: the system eliminates intermodulation, enabling more channels to operate in a smaller spectrum space.
The Digital 6000 series comprises of a two-channel receiver that is available in two different versions, a bodypack, a handheld transmitter and a 19" rackmount recharging unit.
The interchangeable bandwidth of the 244 MHz receiver (470 to 714 MHz) is covered by three versions of transmitters (470 – 558 MHz, 550 – 638 MHz, and 630 – 718 MHz). Up to eight receiver units can be daisy-chained without the need for an additional antenna separator; the multi-channel system will work with a pair of antennas. The system latency is 3 milliseconds.
The Digital 6000 is compatible with the Digital 9000 in a long-range mode and the EK 6042 digital/analog camera receiver. It is integrated seamlessly within digital or analog infrastructures.
The EM 6000 receiver is equipped with an AES-3 digital output with wordclock in/out, analog XLR-3 outputs balanced with high-quality transformer and 1/4" (6.3 mm) jack outputs. Its counterpart, the Dante EM 6000, offers an additional Amphenol RJ-45 connector for integration into Dante protocol networks.
