Latin America. Sony introduced four new projectors to the D series to replace the current models. These effective and easy-to-use desktop projectors feature improvements in brightness, contrast ratio, and lamp life, among others. It should be noted that the new models will maintain the same price as the current models and offer customers improved value.
The new VPL-DX221, VPL-DX241, VPL-DX271 and VPL-DW241 models are all lightweight, compact and energy-efficient, but with a wide variety of resolutions and projection options to meet the needs of small and medium-sized meeting rooms and classrooms. All D-Series projectors include BrightEra with long-lasting optics to ensure high-quality, brighter images with uniform color stability.
They also include Vivid mode, which offers richer colors and sharper high-contrast images, as well as five other image modes for users to get the right white balance for their images and their surroundings by combining it with one of three brightness modes. The new VPL-DX221 delivers even higher image quality with an improved contrast ratio.
Ease of use is also key, as all models are equipped with automatic start, which detects an HDMI or VGA signal and starts presentations faster, and quick shutdown, which saves time when there is a rush to move on to the next meeting or class. Other interesting features for presentations include an on-screen stopwatch that ensures all participants are aware of the times.
In addition to these features, the VPL-DX221 extends the lamp life to 10,000 hours (to match the rest of the D-series models), reducing disruptions in busy classrooms and offices.
The new D-series models will be on sale from September 2017. The VPL-DX220, VPL-DX240, VPL-DX270 and VPL-DW240 will be discontinued.
