International. Christie, along with its valued partner Avollusion, presented impressive light installations and video projections at several iconic sites and buildings during the Lumieres Hong Kong festival.
The Lumieres Hong Kong festival, which was held for the first time this year, took place on November 23, 24 and 25. The festival featured three nights of light installations, video projections, art pieces and meals to experience Hong Kong in a new light.
Some emblematic places and buildings of the city in the neighborhoods of Sheung Wan, Soho, Central, Tsim Sha Tsui and Kowloon became the canvas of some of the most recognized local and international artists who showed their vision of the city's own culture. Completely free, Lumieres Hong Kong offered activities and celebrations for the general public, young and old, to rediscover the city's heritage.
Christie and Avollusion were also the technological partners of this multidisciplinary festival of installations, performances, audio effects and interaction with the public.
Among the highlights was an attractive projection mapping on the façade of Hong Kong's Mandarin Oriental, one of the most exclusive luxury hotels in the world. The projection canvas, which measured 34 meters wide and 33 meters high, was illuminated with 10 Christie Boxer 4K30 3DLP® projectors managed by Christie Pandoras Box servers, with content designed and produced entirely by Christie 360.
In addition, Christie set up an interactive booth near the hotel to increase the user experience. Known as LUX, this stand elevated the traditional event photo booth to the level of interactive experience.
