Uses of Digital Signage in Hotels

Digital displays can be used to provide guests with information about check-in, check-in times, restaurant hours, and key facilities such as gyms, gift shops, spas, and conference rooms. Digital communication is a great way to present the questions that are commonly asked by guests. You can post prices for additional services such as spa, massages and laundry service – as well as pet policies and continental breakfast times. You can structure messages in a question-and-answer format or create separate, unique messages to address each question. This virtual concierge frees up staff to focus on the most urgent needs.

Highlight local attractions for guests.

Taking the virtual concierge to the next level, digital signage can be a resource for customers to learn about local attractions, special events, and areas of interest. Digital displays can direct customers to monuments, historic sites, popular attractions and festivals in the area. Promotions can also be highlighted through the use of QR codes that can be scanned to display key offers, coupons or vouchers.

Provide guests with the information they are interested in

Digital communication can provide guests with information that is relevant and important to them. Local weather, stock market updates, flight delays and other data can be easily visualized, offering your customers a higher level of service. Headlines of local, regional and national news can be viewed in real time. Key reminders – for example, "bring an umbrella" or "bring a jacket" can be "activated" based on weather conditions and displayed to help customers plan for the future.

Display special messages to receive groups, events, and conferences

When a hotel hosts a wedding party, conference or convention, digital signage can display personalized welcome messages and even specific messages to assist guests. This saves the reception of a deluge of questions from conference attendees. Digital communication can speak for the hotel, streamlining processes and avoiding bottlenecks at the reception. 

Generate a stream of profits from the sale of advertising

Digital communication can be used to display advertising for businesses that are local, regional or national. Transportation, restaurants, spas, and other organizations can purchase advertising space that can work with hotel signage. Some hotels have chosen to sell sponsorship spaces on their screens, showing ads of individuals recurrently over time. For example, some hotels allow a company to sponsor the hotel's restaurant menu. The menu will be displayed and the business may have a part of the screen for its ad.

The possibilities of digital signage in hotels are almost endless. Signage solutions can improve customer service, drive incremental profits, increase staff efficiency, and deliver enhanced guest experiences. The wide range of benefits can quickly offset the cost or investment needed, delivering a strong return on investment (Return on Investment) for the implementation of digital signage in hotels.
