Mexico. One of the vertical markets in which Panasonic de Mexico seeks to generate new business through the offer of its Solutions Group is retail, for which it offers turnkey technological systems for department stores, shopping centers, convenience stores and restaurant chains. The newly created group responds to the global strategy of the Japanese company in which it seeks to develop business solutions tailored to the needs of users.
For this market, Panasonic designs and integrates systems to create attractive marketing experiences that capture the attention of consumers through digital signage, video-mapping, giant LED screens, transparent and interactive shop windows or augmented reality applications, which are complemented by video surveillance solutions and point-of-sale systems.
Retail Marketing Solutions
Capturing the attention of potential consumers and offering content segmented according to the different sociodemographic profiles is a task that has become sophisticated to the point of demanding dissemination tools that are practically managed in real time.
Ideal for transmitting content with great precision, in terms of schedules, zones and type of messages, in addition to allowing changes on the fly, the Panasonic digital signage system with IP technology integrates all the contents in a server that is managed from a control center, in which they are distributed to each of the available screens.
In addition to the monitors and videowalls necessary for the interior of the stores, Panasonic provides spectacular image solutions from LED panels to create huge screens, ribbons, cubes or towers that display images of great resolution, brightness, color and contrast, both on the exterior facades and in the windows or open spaces indoors. LED technology for giant screens provides a very attractive cost-benefit ratio for its simple content management, low maintenance, ease of installation and marketing options.
On the other hand, projectors with DLP technology offer great luminosity and precise performance, so they are chosen for large-format video-mapping applications that look spectacular during product launch events, fashion shows, celebrations or special promotions.
A simple solution to convert shop windows or windows into screens that display commercial content is the technology of projection of images on transparent surfaces, which allows to combine the exhibition of real objects with video effects or content to highlight the characteristics of the products and demonstrate their operation.
Panasonic also shows the augmented reality solution Light ID, a development of the Japanese company, which works with an identifier code (ID Code) issued by a light signal from a screen or object enabled for it and that once captured by a smartphone, downloads and displays additional content from the Internet.
Operational Efficiency Solutions for Retail
The operation of a small convenience store or a gigantic chain of restaurants requires systems and elements that work with the precision of a well-adjusted machinery. Panasonic integrates complete solutions that facilitate the work in these establishments and make them more efficient every day.
Widely accepted by the main restaurant chains, Panasonic's POS systems of point-of-sale terminals stand out for their compact size, robust design, resistance to splashes or dust and touch screens of great brilliance that ensure their correct operation even under unfavorable lighting conditions.
The offer is strengthened with mobile terminals of the Panasonic Toughbook family. Very robust, compact and lightweight tablets that at the same time have a high contrast touch screen, bank card reader, long battery life and secure connectivity to transmit transaction data with great speed and adequate levels of reliability.
In addition to streamlining orders and facilitating self-service operations, kiosks or interactive terminals with 4K UHD screens promote interaction with the consumer and become a great demonstration and sales tool. These are ultra-thin devices, ideal to integrate into clean and attractive designs, with an image quality in which an article will stand out in great detail and a dish will look very appetizing. These terminals can grow in functions with the addition of technologies such as the aforementioned Light ID or cameras for age verification or gender identification of the user.
By combining camera and software technologies, Panasonic has developed a couple of consumer analytics solutions. The first, by using any camera, to examine facial features and obtain statistical data on the gender and age range of people who purchase a product, request a demonstration or simply take an interest in an article. The second, using a camera integrated into the point of sale terminal, to verify the age of consumers when buying restricted items for adults, in establishments such as pharmacies, liquor stores or convenience stores.
Recently added to the Panasonic offer, the refrigeration and merchandise display systems developed by the renowned Hussmann1 brand, provide different options and configuration according to the needs of each client. Acquired by Panasonic Corporation in 2016, Hussmann provides complete solutions that can include project design and integration services, installation, maintenance, parts supply and auditing on energy consumption.
