Sony improves range of projectors of the C series

Latin America. Sony has expanded its range of C-series projectors with the launch of three updated 3LCD BrightEra models: VPL-CW276, VPL-CW256 and VPL-CX236. Sony's BrightEra technology together with the 3LCD light source offers great image quality, high efficiency, bright images, excellent contrast and consistent colour stability.

The addition of these models further expands Sony's offering for education and corporate environments, and makes next-generation projector technology affordable for a wider range of channel partners and customers. It also announced the market launch of the WUXGA VPL-CH355 and VPL-CH375 projectors with HDBaseT connectivity.

C-Series models include easy-to-use, environmentally friendly features that do not compromise on their  quality and reliability. These projectors are ideal for most large classrooms and meeting rooms.

The VPL-CX236 projector offers a brightness of 4100 lumens and a projection ratio of 1.66 - 2.41:1, while the VPL-CW256 and VPL-CW276 offer a brightness of 4500 and 5100 lumens and a projection ratio of 1.32 -1.91:1. In addition, the VPL-CX236 has three brightness modes that adapt to the specific needs of each user. One of them, the low brightness mode, involves a lower operating cost by reducing energy consumption and extending the life of the lamp to approximately 5000 hours.

In addition, the new projectors feature a fan that emits less noise thanks to its quiet operation and with two new HDMI ports, as well as horizontal and vertical lens shift functions for greater installation flexibility. With this feature, the position of the projected image can be moved vertically up or down by 5% and horizontally from -3% to +3% on the VPL-CW256 and VPL-CW276 projectors and from -4% to +4% on the VPL-CX236 and VPL-CX276 projectors.

Sony's upgrade to its C-series installation projectors coincides with the market availability of the affordable VPL-CH355 and VPL-CH375 models. These two models offer WUXGA resolution, automatic dimming to gradually reduce power and brightness, and the ECO image mute node (blank periods) to reduce power consumption when not in use, as well as an auto-brightness mode that adjusts brightness (up/down) based on the projected image.

They also include an HDBaseT connection that facilitates connectivity and reduces total system costs thanks to its reduced use of cables, signal extenders and receivers, and reduces the risk of points of failure. Optional wireless connectivity is also included to increase connection possibilities, making the VPL-CH355 and VPL-CH375 the ideal solution for the education and business sector.

The VPL-CH355 and VPL-CH375 models are available from November and updated models VPL-CW276, VPL-CW256 and VPL-CX236> will be available in early January 2015.
