Latin America. Epson released a firmware update, which allows to expand the image quality and performance capacity of several of its home theater solutions.
The update expands Super Resolution technology, to include Epson's Detail Enhancement options for sharp, vivid images. Epson's Detail Enhancement feature works in conjunction with the Super Resolution feature, to increase the brightness differences of the texture and surface of images.
This last function detects the color change from the edge of an object to the background color and adjusts and defines the image. Epson's Detail Enhancement option uses a similar technique, clarifying the appearance of the texture and surface of the area within the boundaries of an object. With the firmware update, both video processes work together, one over the edges and the other over the surface area of objects, in order to increase the delicate structure of video images.
"The new firmware update expands the capabilities of several major models in a diverse line of 1080p Full HD 2D/3D home theater projectors available from Epson," said Gabriel Goncalves, Regional Product Manager, Epson America, Inc. "We are excited to be able to offer this firmware to distributors and end users so that our customers can enjoy a wide variety of multimedia content and an immersive in their homes. and captivating big-screen experience."
