Latin America. Avid unveiled Pro Tools | First, a free version of Pro Tools that offers many of the music creation capabilities used by artists and recording studios around the world. It allows a beginner to learn it with ease and, at the same time, offers the tools that the experienced musician needs.
With this version, artists can quickly turn their ideas into professional-sounding songs, recording, using instruments in software and applying audio effects. To expand your creative toolkit, the integrated Avid App Store offers a world of accessible AAX plug-ins and "First" packages in the Avid Marketplace that make it easy and faster to create, mold, and optimize sounds.
To accommodate the mobile lifestyle of artists and aspirants, Pro Tools | First stores and manages sessions securely, in the cloud, thanks to the Avid MediaCentral Platform. This allows users to log into an Avid account to access and work with their music from any Mac or PC that has the Pro Tools workstation installed | First. When making changes, the project synchronizes with the cloud every time it is saved. As a special introductory offering, artists can store and work in the cloud with a maximum of three Pro Tools projects | First, free.
In addition, Pro Tools | First will support the Avid Cloud Collaboration service when it becomes available, helping artists collaborate with others from wherever they are in the world.
Avid Pro Tools | First will be available in the first quarter of 2015 as a free download on Avid.com. For more information, visit avid.com/protoolsfirst
