International. Barco is expanding the capabilities of its ClickShare wireless presentation and collaboration system. The new software versions for the ClickShare CSM-1 and CSC-1 units bring a number of features that enhance the collaboration experience in meeting rooms.
For the CSM-1 unit, the most important novelty is the automatic disposition function. This allows two people to share content on screen at the same time.
In line with its dedication to the BYOD trend, the ability to fully mirror the screens of Apple devices using the base CSC-1 drives was added. This means that what you see on the mobile device screen – including data, images and video – is immediately displayed on the central screen of the meeting room, without the need for an Apple TV or a specialized application. Today it is also possible with the use of Samsung Galaxy devices.
Two additional features:
The option to disable the wireless access point of the ClickShare Units and integrate the base units of the corporate network. This feature allows ClickShare buttons, or mobile devices using ClickShare applications, to connect to the ClickShare base drive through the company's wireless infrastructure, rather than through the wireless network of the base drive itself. This option allows you to avoid adding additional access points in the Wi-Fi environment.
The signal strength modulation function, which limits the range of the base unit. This feature not only allows more ClickShare units to be integrated into a limited space – such as the section of the building that contains a large number of meeting rooms – but also prevents connections from outside the room.
Firmware updates can be downloaded for free from the Barco website.
